Hey guys! It’s been a LONG time since I posted. I have been very busy with MANY things which I will be blogging about and a lot of stuff that will be “edutaining” and a little bit of inspiring stuff too! However I wanted to let everyone know of a TV spec pilot called Wackademia that I co-wrote, directed and produced along with Kristina Harris. She is the creator of the web series Math Warriors on YouTube which has won many awards. We collaborated creating Wackademia, a spin off of Math Warriors, a comedy which is a cross between The Bang Theory and The Office shot mockumentary style.

Wackademia is in the same vein as Math Warriors except it’s mostly a host of new characters. Basically the pilot centers around a group of math grad students at the Manhattan Institute of Technology in New York City, one of the most prestigious schools in the world. Felicia played by Kristina Harris, is the mainstay from Math Warriors and Professor Aquino is played by me, Roger Anthony, a stalwart in the math department. One of the reasons I love about this project is we have a very diverse cast with actors of different nationalities. We wanted a to reflect what students really look like at schools like this and present that diversity in a fun lighthearted manner. The comedy is what happens when you bring people from different cultures and attitudes together. I feel we all are becoming closer in this global village. Even though we come from different parts of the country or from different countries, we’re all part of the human race trying to understand each other so we can help each other. And we had an awesome  cast who we found around the New York area since it’s the ultimate melting pot.
I love that we were able to shoot around Manhattan including Wall Street, Washington Square Park, in front of The Public Library and inside the famed Grand Central Station. So showcasing New York was pretty cool in itself.
In October last year, Wackademia screened at the International Film Festival Manhattan ironically in New York, where it received high praise and Kristina and I even received honorable mention for the Best Director Award!

The goal now is pitching it to production companies, studios and new media outlets like Netflix, Hulu and Amazon to take it to the next level. We are looking for people who are interested in helping us take it to the masses.
Please take a look at our trailers above and please leave a comment! Thanks!
